Robert Parker 95+/100
+The 2006 is a beautifully centered, poised wine layered with exceptional purity in its aromas and flavors. Ripe dark fruit, menthol, espresso, spices and licorice emerge from this focused, powerful Castello. Ideally, the wine is best cellared for a number of years. The Castello is one of Tuscany’s slowest wines to mature, at least in its early years. Anticipated maturity: 20162026.
Antonio Galloni 95+/100
+The wines of Castello del Terriccio are stunning. This is a fabulous set of wines from proprietor Gian Annibale Rossi di Medelana and consulting oenologist Carlo Ferrini.
Wine Spectator 92/100
+Blackberry and violet aromas, as well as some licorice, follow through to a full body, with chewy tannins and a long, silky finish. This is dense and tight, but very wellstructured.
Vivino 4.1/5
+Surprisingly Impressive, thick dark ripe fruit, minty from the oak, slightly developed, dark and spicy, chocolate, on the palate precision, velvety, very great refined mouthfeel with fattyness ripe fruit, elegance grip, rough edges, tannins a tat green, but so very good with great finale. Would love to drink this every week.
